Brote de salmonelosis en Galicia: pistas de que te has intoxicado y cómo actuar…
En verano debemos prestar atención a la forma en la que cocinamos y conservamos algunos alimentos
GALICIA, SPAIN – A suspected salmonella outbreak at a music festival in Galicia has led to 162 individuals being affected, with 22 currently hospitalized. Health authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, focusing on whether tortillas served at the event, which took place during a period of high temperatures, were the source of the contamination. According to Cristina Carrillo, a pharmacist, salmonella infections are commonly caused by consuming food contaminated with the Salmonella bacteria, often found in undercooked products such as meat or eggs. Symptoms typically include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and fever, usually manifesting between 6 and 72 hours after exposure to the bacteria. While the infection is generally considered mild, Ms. Carrillo emphasized the importance of caution for vulnerable populations, including children, the elderly, and individuals with compromised immune systems.
