Gardeners Share Success in Combating Tomato Blossom End Rot A recent video by gardener 𝐃𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐲𝐤 𝐔𝐀 highlights a successful method for treating blossom end rot in tomatoes, a common issue for home growers. The author reported observing the lower part of their tomato fruits beginning to rot approximately a week prior. This condition, often attributed to a calcium deficiency or the plant's inability to absorb calcium, can significantly reduce yield. To address the problem, the gardener quickly applied a calcium nitrate solution. They dissolved one tablespoon of calcium nitrate in 10 liters of water, applying one liter of this solution to each affected tomato plant. After a week following the application, the gardener observed positive results. The tomatoes are now reportedly beginning to ripen normally, with no further signs of blossom end rot on the lower parts of the fruit. The author emphasizes that the plants are now receiving sufficient nutrients and growing well. They encourage other gardeners to inspect their tomato plants and consider this calcium nitrate treatment if similar symptoms of blossom end rot are identified, suggesting that affected fruits should be removed before treatment.
