Parent Accuses Constanța School Director of Corruption and Mismanagement in Heated Dispute
CONSTANȚA – A heated dispute erupted at Liceul Teoretic Lucian Blaga in Constanța, involving a parent, school administration, and local police. Marian Saioc, the parent, publicly accused the school director, Linea Elisabeta Ana Iuliana, of corruption and mismanagement. Saioc claimed the director, allegedly a political appointee, has held her position for two decades, receiving substantial monthly payments, including approximately 90,000 RON from C.R.E.D. and 12,000 EUR from theater missions. The parent expressed frustration over the school's handling of his daughter, Daria Saioc Carmen, a student described as academically advanced for her age, who reportedly experiences boredom due to a lack of challenging material. Saioc sought to transfer his daughter to a more demanding class but faced uncooperative staff and repeated calls to the police by the director, who cited alleged public peace disturbance and unauthorized filming. Despite being told filming was prohibited, Saioc asserted his right to document events in a public institution, even tearing down a 'no filming' sign. The incident escalated with police intervention, highlighting a broader concern about transparency and accountability within the Romanian education system.
