Florida Mom Arrested: Left Child Locked in Car for Two Hours
Palm Beach Mother Arrested for Leaving Child in Locked Car for Two Hours A Florida mother faces child neglect charges after leaving her two-year-old daughter alone and locked in a car for two hours while she went to the gym. The incident occurred on February 16th outside a Crunch Fitness in Palm Beach. A concerned passerby alerted authorities. Palm Beach Police bodycam footage shows the mother, identified only as Christina, giving conflicting accounts to officers. "I literally went in there for like five minutes," she claimed, but witnesses reported the child was left unattended for a significantly longer period. When officers arrived, the car was locked and the engine was off. An officer is shown in the video patiently coaxing the child to unlock the door. "If you cared about it, then you wouldn't leave her in a car, off," an officer can be heard saying in the video. Christina responded by saying she thought her daughter was only left for 15 to 20 minutes and that she was sleeping. The child was unharmed. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles, even for short periods. The case underscores the importance of responsible parenting and awareness of potential risks.
