Málaga Cathedral's Roof Restoration: A Timelapse Journey
Málaga Cathedral Roof Restoration: A Timelapse of Progress Málaga, Spain – The ongoing restoration of the Málaga Cathedral's roof is progressing rapidly, as shown in a recently released timelapse video. The project, designed by architects Juan Manuel Sánchez La Chica and Adolfo de la Torre Prieto, aims to finally solve persistent leaks that have plagued the historic building for years. The video vividly depicts the removal of a problematic brick layer added in 2008, a previous attempt to address the leaks which ultimately proved unsuccessful. The current phase focuses on the construction of a new double-pitched roof, drawing inspiration from original 1764 plans by architect Ventura Rodríguez. "The new roof structure is designed to effectively prevent future water damage," stated a spokesperson for the Bishopric of Málaga, highlighting the significance of preserving this important religious and cultural site. The timelapse showcases the meticulous work of the construction companies, Hermanos Campano and Grupo ORP, and offers a compelling visual record of the restoration's progress. The successful completion of this project will ensure the preservation of the Cathedral for generations to come.
