Noćne navike koje potajno uništavaju zdravlje
Noćne navike koje vi svakodnevno praktikujete mogu biti tihi saveznici vašeg zdravlja – ili njegovi najveći neprijatelji.
In a recent online video, Dr. Clint Steele, identified as a brain and nervous system specialist, highlighted the potential dangers of certain bedtime habits on brain health. According to Dr. Steele, engaging with blue-light screens, such as phones, or watching negative news before sleep can significantly increase the risk of neurodegenerative diseases, including dementia and Alzheimer's. He specifically noted that blue light decreases melatonin production, which is crucial for sleep and the brain's natural detoxification processes. Furthermore, Dr. Steele stated that consuming negative news or 'doom scrolling' elevates cortisol levels, which he claims can cause the brain's cortex to 'go offline' and degenerate over time. To mitigate these risks, Dr. Steele recommended turning off all blue-light screens at least 60 minutes before bed. He also suggested journaling about positive events from the day as a method to relax the brain, decrease cortisol, and promote a transition into a restorative 'theta' sleep state.
