Food Expert Responds to Smoked Meat Controversy, Cites Harmful Compounds
Warsaw, Poland – Dr. Karolina Kowalczyk, a food technology engineer and clinical dietitian, recently addressed online criticism regarding her previous video on smoked food. In a new video, Dr. Kowalczyk emphasized her commitment to factual discussions, stating, "Hate is not scary to me when it's discussed meritoriously." She clarified that her previous content highlighted the presence of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), such as benzopyrene, in traditionally smoked products, both homemade and industrial. Dr. Kowalczyk challenged her critics, whom she referred to as 'TikTok experts,' to research these chemical compounds. She questioned whether those who posted negative comments exclusively consume traditionally smoked, homemade meats, implying a potential lack of understanding or hypocrisy among some online commentators. Dr. Kowalczyk reiterated her dedication to sharing scientifically sound information about food and nutrition.
