
UNFV Students Occupy University Headquarters Amidst Matriculation Delays
Lima, Peru – Students of the National University Federico Villarreal (UNFV) occupied the institution's central headquarters on Thursday night, protesting significant delays in the matriculation process. Approximately 50 students participated in the protest, which escalated into confrontations with university security personnel.According to reports, the academic cycle commenced in April, yet many students, particularly from the Faculty of Humanities, are still not officially registered. This has generated considerable unrest among the student body.Videos shared online show a large number of students blocking access to the university premises, with some individuals seen with their faces covered.As of now, university authorities have not released an official statement regarding the situation. Students have declared their intent to continue the protest until their academic situation is regularized. They highlighted that around 200 students from the faculties of Letters and Humanities are currently un-matriculated and face the risk of losing their academic cycle due to these delays.
