Biscay Women's Project Brings Hope and Awareness to Multiple Sclerosis
Biscay Women Launch Initiative to Raise Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Bilbao, Spain – Ainhoa Jungitu, 27, and her friends have launched 'Eskerrak Ahulak Garen,' a project aimed at increasing awareness and funding for multiple sclerosis research. Diagnosed with the disease herself, Ainhoa shared her initial fear, stating, "When I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, I felt a lot of fear." However, she now expresses gratitude for the opportunity to create positive change. The project's name, meaning 'Thank goodness we are weak' in Basque, reflects their positive outlook despite the challenges of the disease. The group is selling merchandise, including t-shirts and tote bags, with proceeds going directly to research. Miren Urkiza, a friend involved in the project, added, "The response has been incredible; it's much bigger than we initially anticipated." The initiative demonstrates the power of community support in facing adversity and highlights the importance of continued research into multiple sclerosis.
