Mexico Prioritizes Domestic Products in New Economic Initiative
Mexico's Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard announced a significant initiative on May 15, 2025, aimed at boosting the domestic economy. The voluntary agreement, signed by 22 major business groups, will prioritize the sale of Mexican-made products in various retail channels. The agreement, valid until 2028, is expected to increase the availability of domestically produced goods in supermarkets, department stores, and online platforms. "This will lead to an increase in national production and, consequently, more jobs in Mexico," Ebrard stated during the announcement. This initiative reflects the government's focus on supporting local businesses and manufacturers, a key element of its economic strategy. The long-term vision suggests a commitment to sustainable economic growth within Mexico.
