Mexico City Election: Easily Locate Your Polling Place with Online Tools
Mexico City Voters: Find Your Polling Place Easily Mexico City is gearing up for crucial judicial elections, and finding your polling place is easier than you think. The Instituto Nacional Electoral (INE) and the Instituto Electoral de la Ciudad de México (IECM) have launched user-friendly online tools to help voters locate their assigned polling stations. This is particularly helpful this year as the number of polling stations is reduced compared to traditional elections. "The INE and IECM have enabled the 'Ubica tu casilla' (Locate your polling place) microsite," explains Patricia Avedaño, Commissioner President of the IECM. "This tool provides the exact address where Capitalinos can cast their vote." The website requires your electoral section number, readily available on your voter credential. For those living far from their assigned location, special polling places are established in each judicial district. However, Avedaño notes capacity limits. "Only 1,000 people can vote at these special locations," she adds. The IECM has ensured equitable distribution of polling places and gender parity in the election process. The city is divided into 11 judicial districts to facilitate the voting process and ensure accessibility for all citizens. Voters are encouraged to utilize the online tools and plan their trip to the polls to participate in this important election.
