Privacy Breach at San Isidro Restaurant: Employee Accused of Filming Women in Bathroom

San Isidro, Peru – A disturbing incident involving a hidden camera in the women's restroom of Franklin restaurant in San Isidro has sparked outrage after a customer, Fiorella Carrasco, discovered a cell phone recording patrons. The device was found discreetly placed beneath a sink, capturing intimate moments of women using the facilities. Ms. Carrasco, who detailed her traumatic experience, reviewed the phone's contents and identified an employee, Anderson Romario, as the individual responsible for setting up the hidden camera. According to Ms. Carrasco's account, when she confronted the restaurant's management, the accused employee was allowed to change clothes and leave the premises without authorities being contacted. Fiorella Carrasco subsequently went to the police station to file a formal complaint. However, she reported that the police initially dismissed her allegations, stating that her claims were false. Undeterred, Ms. Carrasco continued to press for justice, leading to a later response from the restaurant. Franklin restaurant has since issued a public statement, condemning the incident as an 'act of sexual harassment' committed by an employee who was reportedly in his first month of probation. The restaurant claimed to have contacted authorities and cooperated with the victim in filing a police report. However, Ms. Carrasco publicly refuted parts of this statement, expressing indignation at what she perceived as an attempt to minimize the severity of the violence she endured and the restaurant's delayed and inadequate response. Legal experts note that such acts constitute a 'violation of intimacy' under Article 154 of the Peruvian Penal Code, a fundamental right protecting personal and sexual privacy, especially in spaces where an absolute expectation of privacy exists, such as restrooms. The psychological and social impact on victims of such violations is significant, regardless of whether the recorded material is disseminated.
