Terrifying Roadside Encounter: Woman Narrowly Avoids Carjacking Attempt
A woman driving from Memphis to Houston had a terrifying encounter with two men who she believes were attempting to carjack her. The incident occurred about an hour outside of Houston, in a sparsely populated area. According to Emily Mercer, the first man was on the side of the road on his cell phone, and appeared to look at her oddly. After she rounded a bend, she saw another man lying in the road. Ms. Mercer stated, "When I passed him, I looked in my side mirror and saw him sit up and wave his hand. I was terrified." Later, she learned via Facebook that this was a tactic used by criminals to stop cars and carjack drivers. Law enforcement agencies are urged to investigate this dangerous trend and warn the public.
