Belarusian Prank Highlights Economic Disparity
A Belarusian social experiment: 20 rubles for a holey sock. Grodno, Belarus – June 6, 2025. A young man, whose identity remains undisclosed, conducted a lighthearted social experiment on the streets of Grodno, offering 20 rubles to anyone with a hole in their sock. The experiment, captured on video, shows the man approaching various groups of people, primarily young women. One interaction highlighted the economic differences between the participants. "Devichki, u vas mnogo shansov, tozhe mnogo shansov," he says to one group, meaning "Girls, you have many chances, too many chances." After several unsuccessful attempts, he finally found a man with a hole in his sock. The man, who identified himself as an electrician, received the money. The video's lighthearted approach contrasts with the underlying theme of economic disparity, making it a unique observation of everyday life in Belarus.
