Mantua, Italy – Davide Pezzoni, the renowned 45-year-old Italian chef affectionately known as 'Peccio,' passed away on Monday, June 16, at Mantua Hospital, a week after a severe bicycle accident. Pezzoni, a resident of Borgo Virgilio and a professional cook, was involved in the incident on June 11, sustaining critical injuries. Emergency personnel from 118 promptly responded, transporting him to the hospital in red code. Despite intensive medical care, he suffered multiple fractures and a fatal pulmonary lesion. The news of his death has prompted an outpouring of grief and condolences across social media platforms. Friends and colleagues, including former classmates from the Cornacina hotel institute and staff from Osteria Piazza Sordello 26, where he dedicated many years of his career, have expressed their heartfelt sorrow.
