Podcast Investigates Mysterious Death of Indigenous Man in Manaus
Manaus, Brazil – The mysterious death of Tadeo Kulina, an indigenous Madiha Kulina man, has sparked a four-part podcast investigation by Folha de S.Paulo. Kulina, from a recently contacted indigenous group, traveled to Manaus with his pregnant wife seeking medical care. After his wife gave birth, Kulina disappeared and was later found dead. The case, initially overlooked, has prompted the "Dois Mundos" podcast to delve into the circumstances of his death, exploring the challenges faced by indigenous communities in urban areas. Vinicius Sassine, Folha correspondent in the Amazon region, stated, "It's a case that reveals much about what the Amazon and its traditional populations face." The podcast aims to shed light on the lack of answers and the many unanswered questions surrounding Kulina's death. The first episode is available now on Spotify and Folha's website, with subsequent episodes released weekly.
