New York City, NY – Sansan Chicken, a new eatery located at 289 Mercer Street, is redefining the customer service experience by implementing a unique Zoom-based ordering system. Patrons visiting the restaurant are greeted by a large screen displaying a live Zoom call with a remote cashier, through whom orders are placed. One recent customer documented their experience, showcasing the seamless interaction with the virtual cashier. The customer was able to view menu items, confirm their selections, and complete payment via a card terminal, all while communicating directly with the remote staff member. In a humorous turn, the customer also joined the active Zoom meeting from their personal laptop, briefly appearing alongside the cashier on the main screen. The restaurant's innovative approach aims to streamline operations while still providing personalized service. After placing their order, the customer received a 'Thick Cut Tonkatsu Set' and a 'Chicken Sandwich,' both presented in traditional takeout containers. This novel system has already begun to attract attention for its blend of technology and traditional dining.
