Runaway Zebra Rescued in Dramatic Helicopter Operation

Christiana, Tennessee, was the scene of an unusual rescue operation last week. A zebra, known as Ed, had escaped and spent several days roaming free. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, along with other officials, launched a search to locate the animal. The rescue was captured on video by FOX Weather. The video shows the dramatic moment Ed was airlifted to safety by a helicopter. "It was quite a sight," said a local resident who witnessed the rescue. "We never expected to see a zebra in our neighborhood!" After being carefully lowered to the ground in a net, Ed was transported to a waiting trailer. He was then returned to his owner, unharmed.
