Flights to Socotra are currently only available from Abu Dhabi. The video highlights a visa cost of 170 USD and the Abu Dhabi-Socotra flight at 980 USD (approximately 3600 PLN). The comprehensive package for an 8-day stay on the island, including accommodation, meals, local transport, attractions, and insurance, amounts to 2440 USD (approximately 8800 PLN). The traveler notes that accommodation primarily involves camping for six nights, with one night spent in a hotel in the island's capital. An additional 100 USD is suggested as a tip for the driver. The total cost of the trip, excluding flights from Poland to Abu Dhabi and overnight stays in the UAE, is estimated at 3690 USD (approximately 13,360 PLN). The high costs are attributed to Socotra being a niche destination that is only recently opening up to tourism, as well as the ongoing civil war in mainland Yemen, which complicates visa acquisition. The traveler also notes the disproportionately high cost of the 2.5-hour flight to Socotra. Despite the expenses, the video showcases the island's breathtaking beauty, from its white sand beaches and clear turquoise waters to its unique flora and fauna, including a sighting of dolphins. The traveler undertook this journey in November 2024 with @bez_granic_adventure_club, marking their first organized expedition to the island.
