A British couple has embarked on a remarkable journey, transforming a dilapidated farmhouse in rural Bulgaria into their dream home for just £7,000. The couple, known as "From Bournemouth To Bulgaria," recently shared an "outside tour" of their property, detailing the extensive renovations and their vision for a self-sufficient lifestyle.Upon acquiring the property, the couple immediately began work on the house, which included repairing a collapsed balcony. They have also established dedicated spaces within their outbuildings, one serving as a tool room and another as a craft room.A key aspect of their project is the development of a large vegetable patch, where they are implementing a "no dig" gardening method with the long-term goal of growing all their own food. "We're not fully self-sufficient at this point, but it doesn't mean that it's not a long-term goal for us," the husband stated.The family, including their two children and dogs, initially lived in a caravan on the property for four months while renovations were underway. They have also created a play area for the children, noting their positive adaptation to outdoor living. The property boasts a river running through its lower section, which was a significant draw for the couple. "It's so nice to see the kids playing in it," the wife commented.The couple believes the property's value far exceeds their initial investment, especially compared to housing costs in the UK.
