Dodger Stadium Denies Entry to ICE Agents, Sparks Protest in Los Angeles
Los Angeles, CA – On Thursday, June 19, dozens of protesters gathered outside Dodger Stadium after the Los Angeles Dodgers organization denied entry to agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). ICE agents had reportedly sought permission to access the stadium's parking facilities. The Los Angeles Dodgers confirmed via a post on X that they had denied access to the agents, stating that the night's game would proceed as scheduled. This decision was met with approval by demonstrators, who chanted "No ICE in LA" and praised the team for its stance. Protesters urged the Dodgers to adopt an even firmer public position in support of local communities regarding immigration issues. Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) later issued a statement clarifying that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) vehicles had been present in the stadium's parking lot only briefly and that their presence was not related to any operational or control activities.
