Valencia, Spain – Óscar García, a 43-year-old professional, has brought public attention to the often-overlooked yet critical profession of dangerous goods transport. In a recent video, García, a driver specializing in hazardous materials, detailed his daily responsibilities and the profound impact of his work on society. García explained his entry into the sector, stating, "I arrived at the transport sector because it always caught my attention. One day I decided to take the step." He emphasized the extensive training and safety protocols required, noting, "I feel safe carrying dangerous goods vehicles because the vehicle is prepared for it. And the company provides your PPE and gives you your training." His cargo, primarily gas, serves essential public needs. "I am transporting material, in this case gas, for hospitals, for heating, even for restaurants so they can cook, and for individuals to heat their homes," García elaborated. He underscored the importance of his role, asserting, "I consider my job to be quite important." García also touched upon the career stability offered by the industry. "It's well paid, you have stability for life because the world of transport will never end," he remarked, reflecting on his decision to remain in transport despite previous thoughts of returning to the military. The video, produced by the Valencian Federation of Transport and Logistics Entrepreneurs (FVET), aims to raise awareness about the professionalism and indispensable nature of these transport workers.
