Brazil's Central Bank Launches Automated System for Retrieving Forgotten Funds Brazil's Central Bank announced a new feature for its Valores a Receber (Values to Receive) system, allowing citizens to automate the process of claiming forgotten funds. Starting May 27th, 2025, individuals can easily retrieve money left unclaimed in bank accounts. This new system streamlines the retrieval process, eliminating the need for manual requests for each transaction. According to the Central Bank, over R$9 billion in unclaimed funds are available. To access this feature, users need a Pix account with a CPF key and a gov.br account at the silver or gold level. "This update simplifies the process and makes it much easier for people to access their money," said a Central Bank spokesperson. The initiative is expected to benefit millions of Brazilians and return significant funds to the economy.
