Granddaughter Accused of Embezzling R$200,000 from Elderly Grandfather in Brazil

A 35-year-old woman in Ponta Grossa, Paraná, Brazil, is accused of stealing R$200,000 from her 87-year-old grandfather. The grandfather, in an interview, stated, "It hurts my heart, almost to the point of death. I gave her everything, believing she was a good person. This is theft!" His son discovered the fraud when he noticed the car's IPVA was three years overdue. The granddaughter's defense claims the money was given willingly. Police investigations indicate she embezzled R$109,000 and created a fictitious bank employee persona to deceive her grandfather. She is charged with aggravated embezzlement and will await trial in freedom. The family has requested anonymity.
