
Security Footage Shows Violent Assault on Nursing Technician in Jales UPA
Jales, Brazil – A shocking incident unfolded at the Unidade de Pronto Atendimento (UPA) in Jales on Friday, June 6th, 2025. Security camera footage captured a woman violently assaulting a nursing technician. The woman, identified only as the wife of a patient awaiting hospital transfer, became enraged after the Santa Casa de Jales hospital refused to admit her husband. "She went ballistic," a witness who preferred to remain anonymous stated. The video shows the woman kicking a tray of medications, shouting insults, and then physically attacking the technician, grabbing her by the throat. Hospital staff intervened and restrained the woman, who was later taken to the police station for questioning and subsequently released. Both the assaulted technician and another nurse involved are currently on medical leave. The incident has been registered as assault, verbal abuse, and threats. The DRS (Departamento Regional de Saúde) of Jales has yet to comment on the incident.
