Jailbreak in Paraná: Escaped Prisoner Steals Police Car, Weapons Recovered
In a dramatic turn of events in Beltrão, Paraná, Brazil, Heber Henrique de Souza Martins, 33, escaped from the city's public jail on Sunday night. His audacious escape involved removing tiles from his cell, entering the adjacent Police Civil building, breaking into an office, and stealing the keys to a police vehicle. The vehicle, containing weapons, ammunition, and bulletproof vests, was found abandoned Monday morning in a rural area of Londrina, approximately 150 km from Beltrão. A police spokesperson stated, "Heber was incarcerated for various thefts, particularly vehicle thefts." The abandoned vehicle also contained an unexpected passenger: a puppy, now adopted by a Londrina Police Civil employee. Martins remains at large, and investigations are ongoing.
