Galicia's 2025 Xacobeo Concerts: 700+ Events to Showcase Regional Culture
Galicia to Host 700+ Musical Events in 2025 Xacobeo Concerts Galicia, Spain, is set to host over 700 musical events in 2025 as part of the Xacobeo concerts. This ambitious project aims to showcase Galicia's rich culture through music, bringing together both international and local artists. The concerts will not only grace major cities but also smaller towns and rural areas, ensuring widespread participation. "It's important to bring these events to the rural areas," said Jorge Álvarez, director of Silfest and Son da Estación, highlighting festivals in Boimorto and Valdeorras. Alfonso Rueda, emphasizing the initiative's significance, stated, "Galicia, through its music, is about gastronomy, climate, and landscape, but it's much more. It's the cultural power that has always been there and is gaining more recognition." The Xunta (Galician regional government) has pledged its support, while Rueda also urged the central government to expedite tax exemptions for collaborating companies. The scale of the event is impressive, building on the success of previous Xacobeo concerts which saw over 2.5 million participants from 2021-2022. This year's diverse lineup, ranging from Kings of Leon to Tanxugueiras, promises to be a vibrant celebration of Galician and international music.
