Giant Tortilla Celebrates 25 Years of Alento Association in Vigo
Vigo Celebrates: Alento Association's Giant Tortilla Marks 25 Years of Service Vigo, Spain – In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Alento association recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with an unforgettable event. The centerpiece of the celebration was a monumental potato tortilla, weighing a staggering 200 kilograms and sufficient to feed 1000 people. The event took place in the Navia neighborhood, where Alento has its headquarters. The massive tortilla was prepared by "O ovo da avoa," a company that holds the Guinness World Record for the world's largest tortilla. "We worked all night," explained Manuel Casal, CEO of "O ovo da avoa," "peeling, cutting, and pre-cooking 250 kilos of potatoes, using 1800 eggs, and 30 liters of oil." The sheer scale of the undertaking is impressive, and the resulting tortilla was a sight to behold. The event wasn't just about the food; it was a testament to the association's dedication to supporting people affected by brain damage. The celebratory feast served as a heartfelt thank you to the community for their support over the years. "We have much to celebrate," said Gonzalo Mira, director of Alento. "25 years ago, we didn't dream of having the resources we do now, providing the public service that we do. This tortilla is our way of saying thank you." The event was a resounding success, bringing together hundreds of people in a joyous celebration. The giant tortilla, a symbol of community and gratitude, perfectly encapsulated the spirit of Alento's 25-year journey.
