
€3 Million Investment to Boost Pontevedra's Sports and Sanitation
Pontevedra to Receive €3 Million for Sports and Sanitation Projects Pontevedra, Spain – The Xunta de Galicia, the Galician regional government, has announced a €3 million investment in sports and sanitation projects for the city of Pontevedra. The announcement came from Xunta President Alfonso Rueda following a meeting with Pontevedra Mayor Miguel Anxo Fernández Lores. "This commitment is the result of a productive collaboration," Rueda stated, emphasizing the spirit of cooperation between the regional government and the city council, regardless of political affiliations. The specific projects to receive funding will be determined by the city council. This investment is in addition to other major projects already underway in Pontevedra, including the construction of the new Novo Montecelo hospital (€170 million plus €30 million for equipment), a high-performance sports center (€30 million), and the renovation of the Pazo de Lourizán (€17 million). The Xunta is also constructing over 230 public housing units in the city. The €3 million investment demonstrates the Xunta’s commitment to improving Pontevedra's infrastructure and quality of life.
