Kazakh Cashier Alleges Assault, Harassment at Gas Station
Gas Station Assault: Cashier Alleges Harassment, Threats in Kazakhstan A gas station cashier in Kazakhstan is seeking justice after a violent altercation with a customer and his daughter. Jazira Dulinbaeva, a single mother, claims she was assaulted and harassed at a Qazaq Oil station in Almaty. The incident allegedly began after the customer accused her of not dispensing the correct amount of fuel despite payment confirmation. His daughter arrived later and, according to Dulinbaeva, verbally abused and threatened her, claiming her father's position as a Chevron executive would ensure consequences. "They told me to apologize to his daughter. For what? For her humiliating me? It seems the customer is always right, and employees must endure everything, get hit in the face, and then lose their jobs," Dulinbaeva stated. Qazaq Oil issued a statement saying they have a zero-tolerance policy for aggression and are conducting an internal investigation. However, Dulinbaeva alleges she faced psychological pressure from the company, claiming that she was pressured to resign. She intends to file a formal police report. This incident highlights the need for better protection for service industry workers and underscores the importance of thorough investigations into such cases.
