Bucharest Hosts Innovation Labs Demo Day: Young Entrepreneurs Showcase Cutting-Edge Tech Bucharest, Romania – On June 9th, 2025, the Innovation Labs program culminated in a Demo Day at the Elisabeta Theatre, showcasing the innovative projects of 17 finalist teams. Sponsored by Orange Romania, Innovation Labs is a pre-acceleration program for tech startups, now in its 13th edition and implemented nationally since 2025. The event featured a diverse range of projects. One team presented "Techy," an AI designed to alleviate employee workload by handling repetitive tasks. "Techy se ocupă să preia toate taskurile care sunt ori repetitive, ori care nu necesită să fii om," explained one developer. Another team unveiled biodegradable bandages that change color depending on the pH level of a wound, alerting users to potential infections. A third project focused on innovative knee prosthetics made from metamaterials. "Bunica mea avea probleme de genunchi, alerg și mă întâlnesc mereu cu persoane care au probleme cu genunchii," shared one enthusiastic entrepreneur, explaining the inspiration behind her project. The program also supported initiatives like VolunteerNow, a platform simplifying volunteer work. The event concluded with awards for Best Product, Best Emerging Start-up, Public Vote, Grand Prize, and an Investment Prize of €500,000. The success of Innovation Labs highlights Romania's growing tech scene and the potential of young entrepreneurs.
