Woman Shares Personal Journey with Psoriasis: Navigating Treatment Challenges
A woman, known online as Girliemum, recently shared an update on her ongoing battle with psoriasis, a chronic autoimmune skin condition. In a candid video, she revealed the persistent challenges she faces despite current treatments. Girliemum, who has been on the biological medication Skyrizi, reported that the treatment has not yielded the desired results. "It's very bad today, this is what we're dealing with," she stated, showing areas of psoriasis on her neck and scalp. Following a recent hospital appointment with her dermatologist, she learned that exploring new biological treatments would require further consultation with a head specialist. In the interim, her doctors have prescribed a multi-pronged approach to manage the flare-up. She will continue with Skyrizi injections, supplemented by new topical applications including Enstilar mousse and Diprosalic. Additionally, she will begin a regimen of oral medications, Folic Acid and Methotrexate, on specific days of the week. "We're going to do a double drug dose to see if my psoriasis calms down," she explained, expressing hope for improvement. The video highlights the often-complex and evolving nature of managing chronic conditions like psoriasis.
