Two Minors Arrested in Manila for Stealing Car Plates Manila, Philippines – June 3, 2025 – Two minors were arrested in Tondo, Manila, for allegedly stealing twelve car license plates. The incident occurred on the morning of June 2nd during heavy rain. Police recovered the stolen plates from a junkyard, but they were severely damaged and unusable. The junkyard owner was also arrested for violating anti-fencing laws. "The theft happened around 2:00 AM during a heavy downpour," stated PMaj. Hanz Jose, OIC of Abad Santos Police Station. "The darkness made it harder to spot the suspects." The suspects, aged 15 and 16, were identified through a follow-up operation conducted by the Manila Police District. The recovered plates, though unusable, will serve as evidence in the ongoing case. The minors are currently in custody at the Abad Santos Police Station Women's Section, awaiting dental age testing to confirm their age. This incident highlights the ongoing challenges of juvenile crime in the area and the importance of community vigilance.
