Marcos Rejects Resignations of 21 Officials
Twenty-one Philippine government officials will retain their positions after President Bongbong Marcos declined their courtesy resignations. This decision follows a performance review process, according to Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, who stated, "We are still undertaking continuing performance evaluations, even of those undersecretaries or those lower than cabinet rank." The officials who remain include Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella, and Education Secretary Sonny Angara, among others. The President's office has not yet released a full list of those whose resignations were rejected. This decision marks a significant development in the ongoing restructuring of the Philippine government.
