₱200 Daily Wage Hike Approved in Philippines: House Passes Bill, Senator Urges Senate Adoption
The Philippine House of Representatives has approved a bill increasing the daily minimum wage for private sector workers by ₱200. This decision follows an earlier Senate approval of a ₱100 increase. Representative Ramon Jolo Revilla III stated, “This is a significant victory for our workers, providing much-needed support for their daily expenses.” The higher amount approved by the House has prompted calls from Senator Migz Zubiri for the Senate to adopt the House’s version. The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) plans to formally request President Bongbong Marcos to sign the bill into law, ensuring the wage increase benefits Filipino workers. This substantial increase will positively impact the lives of many Filipino families.
