In San Mateo, Rizal, a man was apprehended after his own son turned him in for stealing computer parts worth ₱11,000 from a local computer shop. The son's courageous act led to the father's arrest. "My son did the right thing," said Jovy Dumagin Almanzor, the owner of the shop, expressing relief at the recovery of some of the stolen goods. In a separate incident in Parañaque, a suspect was apprehended for house robbery. This arrest was also facilitated by CCTV footage. Kap. Mar Jimenez of Barangay Don Bosco in Parañaque commented, "We followed the trail, and the CCTV footage helped us identify and arrest the suspect." Both suspects are facing charges related to their crimes. These cases underscore the increasing importance of CCTV surveillance in crime prevention and detection in the Philippines.
