A new reality television program on Hungary's RTL channel, titled 'Rácz Dobos,' has sparked debate among viewers and media critics. The show's premise involves a group of well-known and lesser-known public figures, clad in distinctive orange jumpsuits, attempting to evade a team of 'detectives' across the country. The unique twist allows the general public to actively participate by either assisting the fugitives in their escape or providing information to the 'detectives' about their whereabouts. Critics, such as TikTok user hatterhatalom_embere, have voiced concerns regarding the program's originality and overall entertainment value. 'Is this truly the pinnacle of entertainment that Hungarian television can offer?' he questioned in a recent video, expressing dismay at what he perceives as a decline in programming quality. He further suggested that participating celebrities might be diminishing their public image for financial incentives, stating, 'They are trampling their own names and faces in the mud on live television.' The show's format, which some compare to a glorified game of hide-and-seek, raises questions about the future direction of commercial television content and its appeal to a discerning audience.
