Concert Hero Averts Prison: Plea Bargain Reached in Futog Assault Case
A young man, Jovan, intervened in a violent assault at a concert in Futog, Novi Sad, on June 3, 2025. He knocked out the assailant who was attacking the audience and members of the Belgrade Syndicate. Jovan's lawyer spoke to reporters outside the courthouse, explaining that a plea bargain had been reached. Jovan will serve one year of house arrest under electronic monitoring. The lawyer stated, "This agreement avoids the risk of Jovan facing imprisonment and unnecessary time in detention, considering he wasn't part of the initial conflict." The lawyer also noted that the potential sentence for the crime of violent behavior at a public event is between one and five years imprisonment. The successful plea bargain demonstrates a commitment to resolving the case efficiently and fairly.
