Actor Sues Tyler Perry for $260 Million Over Alleged Sexual Harassment and Retaliation
Los Angeles, CA – Actor Derek Dixon has filed a $260 million lawsuit against acclaimed filmmaker Tyler Perry, alleging sexual harassment, assault, and coercion. The complaint, filed in Los Angeles on Friday, June 13th, claims that Perry exploited his position of power, using promises of career advancement to create a coercive and sexually exploitative dynamic with Dixon. Dixon, known for his roles as Dale in Tyler Perry's BET series 'Ruthless' and 'The Oval,' alleges that the initial excitement of working with a major Hollywood figure quickly turned dark. According to the lawsuit, unwanted advances began to escalate. Dixon further states that after he failed to reciprocate Perry's alleged sexual innuendos, he experienced retaliation that impacted him both physically, through storylines in his character, and professionally, leading to substantial financial losses. Representatives for Tyler Perry have not yet issued a public statement regarding the allegations.
