Key Evidence in Sherzat Polat Murder Trial: Expert Testimony Expected
A murder trial in Kazakhstan is underway, focusing on the death of 16-year-old Sherzat Polat. All defendants have been questioned, and the court is now reviewing evidence. Meirman Shekeev, the defense lawyer, stated that the defense is preparing a motion to summon an expert whose conclusion could play a significant role. Shekeev noted that there is an unannounced photo-technical analysis of the video evidence. "On the video you can only see silhouettes, but the analysis provides a specific decryption: who did what," he explained. The lawyer also commented on the defendant Belgozhaev's claim that he only hit Sherzat, believing him to be someone else. "According to the expertise, it is clear that he kicked both, one with one foot, the other with the other," Shekeev revealed. The trial continues.
