Garlasco Murder: New Investigation Focuses on Facebook Post, Mysterious Drawing
The sleepy town of Garlasco, Italy, is once again thrust into the spotlight. A renewed investigation into the 2007 murder of Chiara Poggi has focused attention on Andrea Sempio, a friend of the victim's brother. A key piece of evidence is a Facebook post Sempio made on December 17, 2014, the day Alberto Stasi, initially convicted of the murder, was sentenced in an appeal. The post featured a drawing interpreted by many as referencing the crime. The drawing depicts a naked young woman resembling Chiara, and a man who bears a resemblance to Stasi. The accompanying text, a quote from "The Little Prince," adds another layer of intrigue. Veronica Cursi, the reporter from Il Messaggero, states, "The drawing shows a naked girl similar to Chiara Poggi, turning towards a third person in the room, and says: 'The essential is invisible to the eyes.'" A year before the murder, Chiara's brother Marco discovered intimate videos of Stasi and Chiara on his sister's computer, a detail that has resurfaced in the investigation. Sempio's own comments on the show "Quarto Grado" in 2017, calling the drawing "a nice drawing from one of my favorite books," only add to the mystery. The new investigation raises questions about the extent of Sempio's knowledge and potential involvement in the case.
