Mexico Announces 2025-2026 School Calendar: Extra Vacation Week Included

Mexico City, June 10, 2025 – The Mexican Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) has announced the official school calendar for the 2025-2026 academic year. According to the calendar, classes will begin on September 1st, 2025, and conclude on July 15th, 2026. The calendar includes a total of 185 school days and nine official holidays. A significant change this year is the addition of a full week of vacation, beyond the usual breaks. Nacho Lozano of Imagen Televisión highlighted this extra week, stating, "This extra week of vacation is a welcome addition for students and families alike." The calendar also specifies the dates for winter break (December 22nd to January 12th), Easter week (March 30th to April 10th), and summer vacation (beginning July 15th).
