Ohio Brothers Endure Years of Abuse, Abusers Set for 2030 Release Columbus, Ohio – A disturbing case of child abuse spanning eight years has come to light, detailing the horrific ordeal of two brothers, Tyler and Jesse, at the hands of their mother, Mary, and her girlfriend, Alice. The boys, aged 6 to 14 during the period of abuse, were subjected to severe neglect, starvation, and physical torment, according to accounts. The abuse reportedly began when the boys' mother moved her girlfriend into their home. The children were allegedly locked in rooms, tied to beds, and later confined to a dark closet for extended periods. They were deprived of food and water, receiving only half a peanut butter sandwich every few days, and were forced to urinate and defecate in the closet. Reports indicate they were even forced to consume their own vomit after being beaten for taking food. Despite their severe malnourishment, which left their bones visible, and repeated pleas for food at school, child protective services (CPS) and teachers reportedly failed to intervene effectively. The boys' half-sister eventually helped them escape by moving a dresser blocking their closet door and urging them to run for help. They were found by a neighbor, severely dehydrated and drinking water from holes in the ground, who then contacted authorities. Police arrested Mary and Alice in Ohio. The abusers were reportedly sentenced, and are scheduled for release in 2030. Tragically, the half-sister who aided their escape died in a hit-and-run accident a few years later. The case highlights the critical need for vigilance in protecting vulnerable children.
