Montenegro Nurses Stage Protest for 15% Pay Raise
Montenegro's Healthcare Workers Demand Pay Raise Amidst Government Silence Podgorica, Montenegro – Nurses and technicians at the Clinical Center of Montenegro are escalating their demands for a 15% salary increase, citing unsustainable working conditions and inadequate compensation. Their petition, signed by 1030 employees, remains unanswered by the government. "The work we do is not easy. We are available 24/7, 365 days a year," says Dijana Adžić, a medical sister with over 25 years of experience. "We choose a way of life, but it means being constantly available and caring for patients." The video also includes an interview with Vladimir Dobričanin, a member of the parliamentary health committee. He states that the nurses' request is justified, given that they perform approximately 75% of all healthcare services in Montenegro. He is hopeful that the issue will be addressed soon. The situation underscores the challenges faced by healthcare workers in Montenegro and highlights the need for fair compensation and improved working conditions. The continued lack of response from the government raises concerns about potential protests in the future.
