Tragic Rockfall on Formentera Beach Claims Life of Two-Month-Old Baby
Formentera, Spain – A tragic incident occurred on a beach in Formentera where a two-month-old baby died and her father sustained injuries after a rockfall from a two-meter clay cliff. The family was reportedly seeking shade under the cliff when the collapse happened. Emergency services, including firefighters, quickly responded to the scene. Despite immediate efforts by bathers who were also medical professionals, and the subsequent evacuation by helicopter to Ibiza hospital, the infant sadly succumbed to her injuries. The father is currently recovering at Ibiza hospital with minor injuries. Local reports indicate that the area where the rockfall occurred had previously experienced similar detachments of clay material from the cliff face, including during the past winter. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
