Child Trafficking Ring Dismantled in Île-de-France: Eight Arrested
French authorities have announced the dismantling of a significant child trafficking ring operating in Île-de-France. Eight Cameroonian nationals, seven women and one man, have been arrested on charges of facilitating the illegal entry of at least 25 children into France. The investigation, conducted by the OLTIM, revealed the use of fraudulent documents and a sophisticated system for transporting children, with an estimated cost of €7,500 per child. During questioning, several suspects admitted to paying for their own children's passage to France. The investigation is ongoing to identify further accomplices and fully dismantle the network. This case highlights the ongoing challenges in combating international human trafficking and the importance of cross-border cooperation.
