Jelašnica Residents Transform River into Free Summer Swimming Oasis

JELAŠNICA – In a remarkable display of community spirit, residents of Jelašnica have taken it upon themselves to transform a local river into a free swimming area for the upcoming summer season. The initiative, captured in recent footage, shows men working collaboratively to clear the riverbed and construct a natural dam. Using a tractor, larger stones and debris were efficiently moved to reshape the river's flow. Several individuals were seen wading into the water, meticulously arranging smaller rocks to form a sturdy barrier. The final touch involved deploying a large green tarp, which now helps create a gentle waterfall, enhancing the natural pool. According to local reports, this collective effort aims to provide a refreshing and accessible swimming spot for all villagers throughout the entire summer, free of charge. The project highlights the power of community engagement in improving local amenities and fostering a sense of shared responsibility.
