A mechanic from Spain, Irati Etxandi, has highlighted a significant operational challenge faced by car repair shops: the delayed collection of repaired vehicles by customers. In a recent video, Etxandi showcased numerous cars, both inside and outside her workshop, that are fully repaired but remain uncollected, causing substantial logistical issues. "This is one of the problems we mechanics have," Etxandi stated, pointing to a crowded lot. "We have called customers for cars that have been ready for two days, and they still haven't come to pick them up." She explained that out of 25 cars currently in her shop, 10 are completed and their owners have been notified, some as early as yesterday or even the day before. Etxandi acknowledged that individuals have busy lives and schedules, but stressed the cumulative impact of these delays. "Even one day affects us quite a lot," she said, emphasizing the need for space to accommodate new vehicles requiring service. She concluded with a direct appeal to car owners: "Do not abandon your car at a workshop. If you don't want to fix it, send it to the junkyard or take it home." The issue underscores the delicate balance between customer convenience and the operational efficiency of repair businesses.
