'The pain didn't go away, it progressively got worse,' she stated, describing swelling, redness, and a feeling of being 'physically ill.' Initially, she consulted a doctor via a telehealth appointment, who diagnosed an infection and prescribed antibiotics. However, her condition deteriorated significantly. 'Yesterday, I felt ten times worse. I had a raging fever, the pain radiating from my chest. I couldn't sleep,' she recounted, emphasizing the severity of her state, which she described as 'pure hell.' A subsequent visit to her primary doctor revealed that the initial antibiotic was insufficient, and she was informed she was 'borderline septic.' Her doctor prescribed a stronger antibiotic and warned her to monitor for signs of sepsis, advising an emergency room visit and potential surgery if her condition did not improve by the next day.
