Oaxaca to Get New High-Specialty Regional Hospital A new High-Specialty Regional Hospital is set to be built in Oaxaca, Mexico, replacing the aging "Presidente Benito Juárez" hospital. The announcement was made by ISSSTE director general, Marti Batres, addressing the needs of teachers and healthcare professionals in the region. The project represents a significant investment of over 3 billion pesos. "This new hospital will be a true city of health," Batres stated, highlighting its location near an IMSS hospital and other healthcare facilities. The new facility will boast 250 beds, 43 specialty clinics, and advanced medical equipment including a linear accelerator for cancer treatment, MRI machines, and a radiotherapy unit. Its strategic location, on land expropriated by the Oaxaca state government, ensures accessibility for the 200,000 Oaxaca residents and an additional 1.5 million from surrounding states who will benefit from its services. The helipad will facilitate rapid emergency response. This project signifies a major step forward in improving healthcare access and quality in the region.
